Building Downtown Bend's First Urban Dataset

Beyond individual projects, Obsidian 3D is developing a full 3D dataset of downtown Bend. A living, georeferenced, maintained model of the city itself. It isn't complete yet, but once it is, this georeferenced data will be available to municipalities, developers, and other stakeholders for planning, development, and civic projects across the region.

From the Fire Line to the Museum Floor

The fireboat David Campbell spent ninety-four years answering Portland’s fires. When the Columbia River Maritime Museum needed to lift all 122 tons of her into a new exhibit hall, we scanned her in a single site visit so the rigging plan could be built on measured reality instead of assumptions. In July 2026, the lift went exactly as planned.

A Donated Dataset for Central Oregon Trail Alliance

Central Oregon Trail Alliance is the non-profit behind the trails most of Bend rides. We donated a full capture of Phil’s Skills, five trail sections running about four thousand feet through a half-mile corridor. COTA got the whole set: a millimeter-level point cloud with RCP and LGS, a 3D digital terrain model, a topographic survey with slope and elevation analysis, 2D sections and a trail schematic. Trail work there now starts from measured ground instead of a tape and a best guess.
